The «Artcycling» program wants to awaken creativity in young people by changing the vision of waste and seeing it as an artistic resource.
We love teaching them how to use tools like screwdrivers, drills, and wire to learn different artistic techniques. At the same time, they are reminded of the importance of reducing our impact on the planet by promoting the care and protection of the environment, always from a participatory, creative and artistic approach.
With the support of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa, we have held workshops in 13 educational centers on the island of Ibiza creating 25 pieces, including murals and sculptures with more than 1217 students from 9 to 15 years old. During the process we have made two documentaries.
Through collaboration with the Association of Beekeepers of Ibiza and the agro-ecological farm of Can Moreno «Es Senalló» we have developed the programme «Heartbeet, the cycle of life» to give children a multi-sensory experience and learn about the world of bees, their importance for biodiversity and how to protect them.
During the workshops, the youngsters paint beehives, make wax candles, help to extract the honey, have a honey tasting and, most importantly, visit the beehives with the beekeeper to get to know the bees up close and learn how to look after them.
Observing a bee hive in operation brings us very close to a deeper understanding of nature and the circle of life.
We welcome you to the Sànima Herbs garden, a beautiful and magical place of aromatic and medicinal plants surrounded by Mediterranean forest in the north of the island of Ibiza.
With the educational program “Cycle of Life” we want to raise awareness about the delicate balance of life on the planet and, thus, be the change that the world needs.
What do you know about medicinal and aromatic plants?
We will take a tour of the garden, where you can learn, touch and smell different species of aromatic, medicinal and culinary plants.
We will learn what plants need to grow and how they should be collected and dried to use in food, infusions or home remedies. We will test your memory and senses and you will be able to make your own natural products such as perfumes and massage oil.
Through the education program we seek to educate students in the care and protection of the environment, always with a participatory, creative and artistic approach.
The program trains «environmental leaders» to explore and share their experience with the rest of the students, and continue to inspire others outside the classroom.
Raising awareness of the environmental issues affecting our ecosystem, with particular attention to the reduction of consumption and the reuse of waste.
